The University of Minnesota requires all international students and their dependents to purchase the University-sponsored Student Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) unless they are eligible for a waiver.
At the time students arrive at the University of Minnesota, their documents are validated by International Student Services. Students must enroll in the University-sponsored SHBP (or provide proof of coverage to waive the plan) at that time and remain enrolled until the date they leave the University.
Duluth students can receive valued services at low costs at participating providers in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota network.
To find out if the Student Health Benefit Plan is the best option for you, read on, peruse our brochure, or contact the Office of Student Health Benefits with further questions.
We look forward to serving you!
